Black Argillite Crayfish Inspired Toki - SOLD

Sculpted with inspiration from the tail of the crayfish / kōura this Toki features three distinct ridges and has been hand carved from locally sourced black argillite / pakohe. Originally used for the creation of weapons and musical instruments this pakohe is a strong, metamorphosed mudstone in a distinctive matte black finish. This one of a kind piece is the perfect taonga for anyone who feels connected to the sea.
